Ceol na bhFánaithe (OS)
Caitheann an clár seo súil ar an oidhreacht atá fágtha againn ag beirt phíobairí de chuid an lucht siúil a raibh an-mheas orthu, Johnny agus Felix Doran.
The Bunch of Keys: The fourth of our programmes looks at the legacy left behind by two of the most respected Travelling Piper’s Johnny and Felix Doran.
Check out Mickey Dunne on last weeks Ceol na bhFánaithe (OS) about half way through:

Aye Flanum, I suppose??? but for those of us outside Ireland we have to keep an eye on the old clock - Sweden for example runs an hour ahead of Irish time and it’s easy to miss the “live” web transmission which is the only way we can get to see the program (besides clips on YouTube that is)
Hello Pat, yes they have archived the the first two programs “Margret Barry” & “The Pecker”. So I assume the Doran program will be archived and be available next week on the webTV site. It was a nice program and they even had one photo of Johnny, a headshot, I haven’t seen before, and which isn’t in the NPU CD booklet either. There was also a clip of Felix and his son Michael playing together. Looks like it was from the Brian Shuel period in England during the early 1960’s. I liked the John & Larry Rooney clip, som fierce piping going on there. Jaysus!!! as I write I see the Doran program is already up on the site. It’s the top program on Ceol - Cartlaan. Well done Meabh & Conor!!
Has anybody had this problem? For some reason when I connect to TG4 it keeps on re-connecting and then an error comes up with windows media player saying that the file is not a windows media supported file. Yet the file is .asxp which is a WMP file. I well and truly have the minimum requirments as I have a 250k/bs Broadband connection. Does anybody know what’s going on here, TG4 doesn’t exactly have a helpful, FAQ/solve your own problem service.
It plays fine here in Sweden I can watch the programs without problem here at work on a PC and at home on a Mac Powerbook using WMP for Mac. could it be some kind of PC conflict with another program on your hard drive?

I could not get it to work in Internet Explorer but it plays ok using Mozilla for a web browser.
Has anybody figured out how to capture these video streams?
I have been able to capture YouTube video using the YouTube downloader http://video.qooqle.jp/dl/ but you need to enter the URL to get it to download. With this TG4 feed, the exact URL of the feed is hidden. Any suggestions?
I missed the program last night
but ive seen it before.
i was actually a bit busy last night, i was at a sesiun in palace bar on fleet st, with great piping from michael connell(blackie), and eoin dillon. also present was colm healy on box, johnny kelly fiddle and numerous others/ great craic!
incidently if anybody does see “the dorans” episode, look out for me standing behind blackie as he is playing! im the one in the check shirt with a pint of guinness in my hand and a bit of a glazed far-away look!
(edited because i wrote duignan instead of dillon! duh!)
