This may be a bit off topic but does anyone know how to d-load the instructional videos for whistle playing? I’ve got dial up service and it takes forever to load video to watch a lesson and most seem to be in Flash and I’ll be darned if I can save them so that I can actually use them. 
On the Firefox site you can download a plugin called “UnPlug” that you can save them with. They can be transferred to other formats using the freeware program Media Coder.
Alternately, the saved Flash files can be viewed on Media Player Classic.

I’ll lok into it…btw, how’d ya know I was using FF? I have down them all and flash got but when I dload all I get is the embeded player, never the video.

just download the lates Realplayer (10.5). That has a function “download this video” which appears above every video you play. In IE7pro (a IE add-on) there’s also a function where you can download all videofiles, also from youtube.
Look for the whistletunes from tradlessons.com on youtube and you will find them all. With Realplayer 10.5 you can download them for free.

Click Start, Run.
type
C:\Documents and Settings\THE NAME YOU ARE LOGGED ON BY\LocalSettings
e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Dale\Local Settings - hit ENTER
In that folder you will find a Temporary Internetfiles folder.
Highlight that folder, right click and make a shortcut.
Put that shortcut where you want it - I put mine on the start menu
by dragging it to the START icon, and placing it on the tool bar
that opens up - Programs, Documents etc - just drop it where you want it.
Now, when you click on that shortcut, you will get a security warning
of an unspecified threat - click continue.
A window will open, and you look for the video you just watched.
If you set your view to Tiles or Icons,
you will see whatever your default video viewers icon is.
Click on that icons file, COPY, and PASTE it where ever you want,
I use a folder called video, or you could use the My Videos folder.
Rename the video if you want.
Most embedded videos e.g. google or youtube are .flv files if watched via your browser.
You might also need to download a stand alone flv player.
Google GOM Player - it’s a free stand alone player that plays just about anything.
This way you will be looking at the file that is downloaded to your
computer anyway - or else the file wouldn’t be able to play!
If you never cleared your temp internet file,
anything you look at via your browser is stil there.
I’ll bet there are many computers with gigabytes of temp files
using valuable hard drive space - doing nothing! - including all the
videos watched on you tube/google etc
Google “Windows CleanUp!”
It’s free, and will clean all the junk out,
but read the text/help files because it will also
reset any game score you might have on your computer
if you tick the box.
