Downloading Video from Facebook

Hi Folks,

I’ve used KeepVideo to download some great vids from YouTube, but was wondering if there’s a way to download videos from Facebook? In the Video section there are some great links to Conal O’Grada playing at Boxwood and Hammy’s get together that I’d love to download. Is there a way to do it?

The Boxwood ones are on YT and linked from there to FB. Just click through to YT rather than viewing them on FB. Can’t help on the general technical Q regarding clips actually uploaded to FB, sorry.

When I view them there is a link to download them as an mp4 on the right hand side.

Thanks Jem I’ll check them out on YouTube. Podge-I don’t see any download link. Where is that exactly? I was just all over the page. I’m new to Facebook only b/c these great videos are on there. I’m sure this is human error on my part.

Didn’t realise when I posted that the download links were there because of a Firefox plugin.

Download Firefox - http://www.getfirefox.com
Install it and open it up.

Goto Tools > Addons
Click “Get Addons” on top left
Search for facebookvideo
Install it
Restart Firefox
Browse to your Facebook video and the links to download it should be on the right.

Thanks so much Podge. It took a little while but I figured it out; now I have that great playing by Norman and O’Grada, among some others. I like to download the videos I enjoy right away in case authors delete or block them. Great stuff!

and thanks to you for the tip about KeepVid!

I’d been looking for something like that for my mac.

brilliant.

well if you find one for the MAC let me know-

KeepVid works fine for Mac…

or did you mean something running on the mac rather than at web level?

RealPlayer would work in Facebook as well (just right click on the video and save)

How about for linux?

i was under the impression KeepVid did not work for Mac- my bad, thanks
