faces to names

all this chat we do on here it would be nice to put faces to names, how about a picture thread of the pipers with their pipes, & then we can put mugshots to names.

albert :stuck_out_tongue:

You first, Albert lad.

Hi!

Here you go Albert.
If you want, I can send you this framed version of my avatar for X-mas.
I bet it would look great on your mantelpiece

Cheers!

I really like that sweater … brings some colour in this darkish, grey winter here!

… and I’m still thinking of that eleven digit prime number. And even more, once I’ve found it, where will it take me ?!? :astonished: Mysterious moments on a Friday morning.

Cheerio, Thies

P.S.: Concerning the topic of thsi thread: Google was always my friend and in case you find nothing there, people maybe don’t like to publish too much personal things in the web. You never know how it might be (ab)used.

OK, for the google-impaired:

(will edit to repost inline with Peter’s permission). Circa 2000?

Thanks to photographer Peter Laban and Patrick D’Arcy for posting at uilleannobsession.com There are more of Peter’s photos displayed here as well:

Note the crisp packet underfoot. I didn’t play a lot of regs at the time of that photo, as you will surmise from the hand position, since from that angle my wrist won’t reach them. My hair is also a bit greyer now, and the (A. R.) set in the picture now has a new home.

One good place for this thingy could be anyway the Piper Bios on Patrick’s pages: http://www.uilleannobsession.com/extras_piperbios.html.

Hey JES, what’s latin for ā€œit’s harder to hit a moving target?ā€ :stuck_out_tongue:

Is est magis difficile dictu surculus an res in motus. Quare operor vos scisco mihi?

Here I am attempting a triple reverse backflip cran without a warmup

RORY

Ah, craps, Rory, I thought the bottom one was you!!

Is this your 3rd octave d ?!? :boggle: Maybe a bit too much pressure on the bag … :stuck_out_tongue:

The bottom one IS Rory.

Here’s I am tired as hell about to fall asleep at my brothers house…

Photo taken on a sponaeous session we had at a flute making workshop w/ Andreas Rogge. Me sitting on the right, playing an old chieftain lowD. Left side: another workshop participant playing a Hunter narrowD set. I think we had the kesh jig when the photo was taken. And it was around 3:30 am, more or less.

Most people have already seen my face, although from what I hear my pipes are better-known.

Gabriel,
would that be the Lignum Vitae - halfset from Christoph Jacobs?

No idea, sorry - the owner of the set bought it from someone some years ago, he didn’t mention the previous owners.
But lignum vitae is possible, at least the chanter.

I know I’ll regret this but…

David

… cheer up, for Pete’s sake!!!
