I’m the one in the middle, with the guy on the right trying out my Rogge D set.
Maybe I’ll edit this to add something when I’m in a more forthcoming mood

Well, d’ye like this pic better?
Taken in the operating theatre.
I’m the one sitting nearest Séan’s left elbow
Boyd
Operating theatre?
Yes
(Séan was doing some reconstructive surgery on us all: excising bad habits, biopsying crans and triplets, augmenting tone, and a bit of colonic irrigation to get rid of all our crap)
Good idea for a thread. There are precious little photos of me piping but I’ve found one from last summer.
My teenage nephew and niece are reacting appropriately to my piping - incredulity and laughter.
My Aussie ex-pat mate (and fellow exile) John is on the bodhran.
In the background you can see my son Alan trying to open my pipecase. He has a habit of taking out my low whistle and blowing into it, usually while he has his mouth full of food. As a result, my low whistle always tastes funny.

Taken of me playing my beloved C set at the local Irish Fair, a year ago, was it?
I forget. But I like it for the range of visible critiques you can see
on the faces of my stagemates, left to right:
being taken aback, utter disbelief, and boredom.
And no, I just look like I’m playing the regs. ![]()

Make this a sticky! I’m sure it will prove to be as popular as the famous ‘Pictures Of Your Pipes’ thread!
I like the idea, but we have a buttload of stickies already.
They almost fill the page!

Me, thinking something like “what was that next note again?”

Hey Maddes!
Ive got the same practise set! Rogge Polycatel! Just wanted to ask if that is a bagcover you have for your bag( my bag is standard black, yours is green) or is that how you got the set?
This is how I got it.. bought it from a friend of mine a week ago when he got his Full Set by Andreas..
Before that, I had an older practise set with a wooden chanter, lent to me by the German Uilleann Pipes Society, which had a standard black bag also.. I don’t know if Andreas manufactured the older polyacetal sets (it’s like 5 years old now) with green bags or if it’s a bag cover, but I’ll ask the friend I bought it from if you want to know ![]()
Cheers
Maddes
Nah just wondering, thanks.
Some set, isent it!
This is me at the Willie week in 1988. I sitting on a chair with the grey jumper and the black jeans holding a tape recorder, kinda between Deirdre Leech and Billy Browne
This is more recent. I’m the one on the end with the pipes…
Is that Tom Kearney in the first pic? What set is he playing?
