Rich just changed my username, as requested. The reason for the change, as I may have mentioned, is simply this: I was all in a lather to tell the world about my new Sweetheart Professional D, and I registered using the first name that came to mind, which was my computer’s name. However, tinuviel is a woman’s name in Elvish, so on reflection I decided to change to a male Elvish name. I was becoming self conscious. I’ll post an explanation of “elendil” on the current username thread. Thanks to everyone out there–I’ve enjoyed my short time on the board.
Oh, oh, elves. There goes the neighborhood.
nasty elves!
Always elves, never frogs. What’s wrong with this place.
Hey! Elves are cool!
Of course they are. But so are frogs.
Lol Wombat, I suppose so. I do have to admit, those little poison arrow frogs of the Amazon Rainforest are pretty nifty critturs…
Toads! I like toads!
MarkB
Me too. I just didn’t want to be the first to admit it.
Why hasn’t Zoob posted yet? ![]()
Is this supposed to imply that he likes his frogs French fried?

I’m just in a delicate position to comment about frogs
Besides, frogs aren’t cool. Rather, they’re not their best when cool.
You confuse with oysters. Oysters are best cold, so you can hear them say “oy” when you sprinkle them lemon juice.
Frogs get deep-fried (*)
Don’t say “yucch”.
For I foretell you someday you’ll eat them too, when all the chicken get some prion disease or whatever fancy virus, because of being cloned, and genetically altered to hatch featherless, and fed processed steroid-fed cow corpses, which before ate themselves processed fish fed on shaky sheep…
i - And people will be sorry they ate them degenerate dinosaur avatars
ii - And bloody right they will be, for their tummies will be in great pain and their brains start to melt into müesli, and they shall be defenseless for having eaten too many antibiotics in their food
iii - And I’ll open Florida Fried Frogs
iv - And its logo will be an F-cube striped blue-white-red
v - And the tube will be full of commercials where retired Florida widows holler “where’s the FROG” in the phone
vi - And people will crave Captain Zoob’s original recipe
vii - And his Alligator Wine
viii - And I shall buy out all MacDo’s and KFC joints
ix - And I shall be the Zubmeister of da World, WHA HA HA HEE HAW HAW
hee-hee-ha hrk herk snort whizz sneeze… bloody Gauloises… I quit now. Well, to-morrow)
* them batracians, of course, not us Frenchies. Even if some would dream to fry us. Phat chance : their eyes (or mouth ?) are bigger than their stomach.()
** Toads may be not, but methinks footnotes are cool. (*)
*** Uh… what’s the topic, again?
Uh… what’s the topic, again?
wadn’t no topic. but i bet elves don’t eat no nasty pond life–not even with garlic and butter!
Frogs may be cool ( and slimy) but only toads are horny.
Elendil, elen sila lumenn omentielvo.
So grab your friendly neighborhood field guide to amphibians and look ye up the noble Boreal Chorus Frog.
We have them here–waaaaaay up high in the cold cold mountains. They are extremely cool. (In both the literal and figurative sense) You never see them, and most people don’t even know they exist, except for this mysterious song coming out of the ponds and lakes in early summer as soon as the ice is off. Little teeny critters with near-perfect camoflage, suction-cupped toes, and a voice that can be heard a good half mile away at least.
As far as I know they are not edible, though, Zoob–much to tiny to be worth the effort. Sorry to dissappoint you.

Sindarin dialect; “And a star shines upon the hour of our meeting.”
Or something like that…
