Hmm, £1500, for the chanter,
£400 for the rest of the kit, £1900 in total, dos’e it play it self or something?,
must be the most expensive practice set I’ve seen so far, could of had a half set for that sort of money, what’s that in Dallors, around $3600, I don’t think he’s going to get anything like that back for a practice set, could be wrong though. ![]()
A similar Howard chanter was sold on eBay back in April - although I don’t think it was keyed. We all remember that I’m sure as its discussion lead to the forum being locked for a week. Anyway, from memory, that chanter was sold on eBay for approx. STG1,000.
considering how much one of his chanters are new . . . it’s a deal.
So???- how much is one of his chanters NEW?!.
Just a minute! OK, I’m Sitting. ![]()
It’s the pillar mounted keywork that costs the money. His unkeyed practice set is 825 GBP. I took a look at his website and he has a new arrangement of the keys -

Looks interesting, but the cost of producing this kind of keywork in small runs must be pretty high. I don’t think it would help me play any better - I’ll save my money and keep practising.
er, wait . . . I was thinking US $. That’s why I didn’t buy one. My bad.
I have play many of Brian’s Low Whistles. Very nice sound and quality for the price.

As the lovely ladies who sell fruit, vegtables, flowers and fish on Dublins Moore Street might say,
“If ya dont want it, dont maul it”
