Does anyone know where to find videos, DVDs or CDs from the All Ireland Fleadh?
I saw in a website a statement saying that the performers should agree to be recorded and authorize their appearance at the Fleadh’s DVD and CD, so there must be such recordings but I couldn’t find them on the internet.
if anywhere they should be on the comhaltas website : here., never looked at it though. They also do a tv series, which may or may not be on dvd.
Comhaltas have made several Fleadh videos. I bought one of them a few years back when the Comhaltas Tour Group visited Dundee.. The one I have concentrated on a few of the competitions, fiddle was one - included Oisin MacDiarmada winning the 16- 18 age group, - and some of the senior set-dancing final was featured too. There are also recordings of the odd street session, and guest performances from a temporary stage set up in the middle of the town. Probably available on DVDs these days, but your best bet is to contact Comhaltas and ask them directly.
Well, I tried to contact CCE but they have never replied me. It was the same when I asked for information about the Scoil Eigse last year, no reply at all
