Abell set and other whistles for sale.

I have the following whistles to sell. All are in excellent condition. Valid reason for selling, which I’ll happily explain to interested buyers.

  1. Abell complete set in blackwood - headjoint, bodies in C, D, Eb, headjoint, bodies in A, Bb, and F whistle. Includes case.
  2. Pat O Riordan D/C combo in blackwood.
  3. Phil Bleazey D whistle in blackwood.
  4. Harper D/C combo in alloy.
  5. Reyburn standard bore low D and narrow bore low D with case.

Please contact me directly by email and I can send you photos and discuss price and any questions you have.

Many thanks

John

UPDATE: I have received offers for the O’Riordan set, the Abell set and the Reyburn Low D’s - so these are now spoken for pending final settlement.
Thanks to all those who expressed interest and I’m sorry for any disappointments.

John

John, please check your emails.

Wow, some selected club here. I’m impressed.

But won’t inquire :sulk: Wombat probably beat me already on the most thought-after. Though both of us are not really in need any more for an F in the woods

Zub, if Paul Busman is responsible for my eagerness to get wood, I credit you with telling me how to maintain it. :stuck_out_tongue:

You might as well write. I can’t afford all of these. I might not be able to afford any.

Just get one wood whistle, but real chromatic.
Say, this one :

It’s a steal at $5,000 US. I’m sure Chris Abell would throw in the whistle headjoint for free. Or you can hacksaw your old Aussie F for that purpose

OOPS! Edited to correct it’s not $ 5,000. It is more like $ 10,000 with the usual options… Hey, what can you expect for five grand, nowadays…

just hope you don’t kick the bucket while you’re still on the waiting list

Is “kicking the bucket” like what we here call “getting a pinewood suit”, or Russians “hitting oakwood” or is it hanging oneself

the formers

Lord that’s beautiful. A friend
of mine has one like it,
without the holes in the keys,
and it sounds as good as it
looks. Best

I would just like to say that this Abell set is pretty much priceless. Talk about dream whistles! I’ve played my Abell C-D-E-flat set since I receive them last summer and they have unreal qualities. They offer infinite opportunities to experiment with sound and style. It’s a joy to try to live up to them.

Sorry to tease you on this one thurlowe. (What could I have been thinking?) Well, I was just being diplomatically cautious as always. I am now in a position to put you out of your misery. I have been authorised to make the following statement:

All the Abells and both Reyburns have been purchased (for an undisclosed sum) by an international consortium of whistling obsessives (ICWHOB). If we ever find out who beat us to the O’Riordans there’ll be less competition next time around I can tell you.

We shall not be answering further questions at this time. ICHWOB apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
