Abell, Pink ivorywood + sterling silver, as new of course…
Lovely, beautiful, easier up 2nd an in 3rd octave than anything else I’ve tried…
I just can’t get used to the metal (sterling silver) tip and “skinny” body.
I guess I’ll stick to my French fat-bodied Le Coant’s, even if they don’t come in pink ivory and do look more like recorders…
Serial #1021 $ 500 for the set
(+ postage at cost)
As you might guess after a few hours of this thread–the whistleset is spoken for… a few times.
Pink ivorywood looks, and sounds, gorgeous. I’ll miss this set, but leaving it unplayed would be a real shame: I’m NOT a collector of the display-case kind. I’m glad I sell it to someone on this board, not Anon425 on eBay… It remains in the family.
All your kind replies confirm the feeling–way to go.
I just wish I could lure Le Coant in lathing this red stuff. Wow! a black and red Bb, a bit like Wombat’s Busman D, would be a killer around a fest-noz!
