Saw this on another forum and thought we need to play here.

Here’s how you can find the name of your new band, and the name of your band’s debut album.


1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random

The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3

The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

If you want to do this again, you’ll hit refresh to generate new quotes, because clicking the quotes link again will just give you the same quotes over and over again.

3 - Go to flickr’s “explore the last seven days”

Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.


It sometimes takes a couple of hits before you get something good, but it’s amazing how fast it happens.

If it’s easy to do the picture, include it, if not just the band and the album title.

This is genuinely how my band chose our name. I hit random article a heap of times and copied the results to the other guitarist and we picked the one we liked the most.

Ended up with 1864 In Art (we’re a post-rock type band, they always sound pretentious).
