You enter some text and it will create a word cloud for you. Words that occur more frequently in your text appear larger, and less frequent words are smaller. You can tweak the number of words you want in the composition, and choose the color, the font and the arrangement (horizontal, vertical, random, a mix). Lotsa fun!
This one is based on a St. Patrick’s day thread over in the piper’s forum. I went to the first page of the thread, cut and pasted the text into one big block, and entered it into the Wordle engine.I know, I need to get a life
Didn’t it turn out great?
Hey, I’ve seen that! The singer for one of the projects I’m in was playing around with that very Wordle thingum as a possibility for fliers ‘n’ stuff. Yeah, we had some juxtapositions that turned out semiotically less than desirable, too. Gotta consider the elements that can be inserted into the jumble if you’re not just playing around.
How awful-- if after having just performed the Worst Bare-Breasted Pseudo-Irish song-- one were told that one’s juxtapositions were semiotically less than desirable!
Yeah, for some reason we also had words like “failed” and “depressing” and “submit” (that sort of thing, anyway) in the first mix. Not good press at all. Back to the lab.
