Wisconsin Uilleann Pipers Club?

Here is a tentative site for the WUPC, and the 1st ever Uilleann pipes session at Irish Fest… hopefully to be followed by more. Thanks to Pat Cannady and Jeff Lindblade for their enthusiastic help.

HI, just getting in on this. let me know if I violate any rules.
John

I just got back from Milwaukee this morning at 1. That was a painful 20 straight hours of driving non-stop. The get-together at Irish Fest was amazing. Those are some unbelievable musicians (myself not included, of course)!

Thanks, Jeff, for all the encouragement and help. It means alot to a beginner. I’m still amazed by your garden-hose add-on. (I think that’s what we’re talking about in that one picture…) Genius.

Pat, what can I say, you rock on the pipes!

Glad I could meet and listen to both of you.

Sean, the kilt is Black Stewart. I like how it looks from far away - close up there’re alot more weird colors in it than I thought there’d be. I got it before I got the pipes, and I KNOW the two don’t necessarily match… But I figured hey, I bought this thing and here’s finally an opportunity to bust it out, even though with the substituted flip-flops…

Watch out or the Tartan Police will get you!

Hi,

Is that the Sean Dillon who was a pipe band drummer?

Did you play for Clanoe Independent Pipe Band?

Alice

It was interesting the different pipes we had gathered at our session, 2 Kirk Lynch (one full and a 1/2 set), a full Quinn set, a full Froment B set, one full Seth Gallagher, and a Davy Stephenson practice set. There was another piper who I haven’t gotten his set info yet.

When I find myself listening to any small gathering of pipers, I always think that I’m going to try to detect discernable differences in sound, but I get so caught up in watching the piper play, and just listening to the music, I never get to think about listening for the differences.
