OT but I used to live in a place called

Flookburgh  yes as in the burgh of the flook

the church has a flatfish weather vane

as a kid we used to go treading for flooks, you walk out in the sea in bare feet and when you stand on a flook, you bend down and pick it up - go great with chips. mmmmmm.
heyho
Richard.

rbm, in the wilds of the English Lake District, where the fells… Hey who’s stolen them?.. come on guy’s just put them back. - it’s not funny and it’s not clever.

You?

Like yes, but love isn’t quite happening for me yet.

One question: Lunasa, Lunasa, Lunasa … while we’re talking about talented young Irish bands, anybody heard of Danu?

I like your way with words

Tom

I was in love… once.

hmmm…Danu…

YES! Tom has his way with the flutes, he does.

Like me some Danu.

Wombat,

yes, big big fan of Danu, especially the singer.

Lunasa held me in thrall for a while, but it eventually felt like I was in a plastic universe (forgive me, Colomon!). Must see live to regain awe. Rats, missed them in Ann Arbor.

Of all cutting-edge bands, for me Kila kicks the most derriere. Great sound, great vision, great raw-voiced singer.

Happy weekend, everybuddy.

Nope. I’ve never even heard of them. Whether I might like them or not would depend on how trad they are…I hate Enya-like “New Age” pseudo-Celtic stuff. Traditional stuff, however, I tend to like a great deal.

Redwolf

Pretty trad, no vocals, only instrumental (Flute, whistles, Uillean Pipes, fiddle, guitar, and stand-up bass). They play a mix of traditional pieces and their own compositions. The only unusual bit is that they play a large portion of the whistle music on low-F whistles.

Go here: http://www.lunasa.ie/album2.htm

They have sound samples on their site.
