My current play list is a really cool melodic Black Metal band called “Dark Tranquility”
I’ve been listening a lot of Cheiftians, but I needed to get back to my roots. (Weird… My roots are heavy metal, and I’m “exploring” Irish Traditional. That seems a bit backwards).
To the sounds of silence. I’m working.
Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m intermittently picking up a whistle and playing “Be Thou My Vision.”
Well, as I’m writing this, Neil Young just finished singing “I Believe In You,” and the Talking Heads came on playing “Heaven.”
I keep my iTunes on shuffle. 
The Dusty Miller album just released this summer by Gay McKeon and sons. The solo tracks are bit on the woeful side, but they’ve really got the group tracks going tight and powerful, generating tremendous energy. This is the kind of sex and violence I am looking for when I listen to ITM.

I’m not listening to anything at the moment, but I do have “The Bonny Bonny Banks of Loch Lomond” stuck in my head, and I don’t know where it came from.
Still, it’s better than “Watching Scotty Grow,” which is what I had stuck in my head earlier.

Aaahhh, this is better! I have the first track from Kitty Lie Over going around in my head now. Much better. I think I’ll put that CD on.
I’m learning The Old Torn Petticoat and have it playing in versions by Jacqueline McCarthy, Joe Ryan (the fiddler), Kitty Hayes, & Liam O’Flynn. On repeat. And it’ll be the Dublin reel after that (I have that basically, just need to iron out a kink or two).
The fan of my hard drive. Been goin’ through a funk where nothing sounds interesting. Must be time to buy a new disk!!
Anouar Brahem Trio–“Astrakan Cafe,” with the first Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra album before that, and Jan Garbarek, and Charlie Musselwhite’s terrific new one, “Sanctuary.”
Must be something of a swerve, after three or four weeks of mostly trad on the stereo.
