Uillean piping humour

There must be loads of jokes about pipers, piping, etc. To get this thread started, where’s a (funny) true story:

On the way to Killington last August, the minivan we rented was absolutely bursting at the seams. There were 7 people - my wife, two children, 2 friends, my teenage niece and me. The boot/trunk was full of bags. My pipes were under the rear seat and my reedmaking toolbox was in the passenger foot-well.

One of my friends who was sitting in the passenger seat (and who knows little about the piping) asked what was in the toolbox. “My reedmaking kit”, I replied. “What’s reedmaking?”, my friend asked. Before I had time to reply, my teenage niece said “It’s like knitting but for men”.

While I was talking with a fellow uilleann piper in Clare last May, at one point the conversation touched on highland pipers and GHB’s. He said, “They seem to be having trouble with their second octave.”

Good joke.

Actually the GHB does play the second octave but at the same time as the lower one, it’s called harmonics.

what do pipers use for birth control?

Their personalities? No, that’s accountants … I give up.
