I’ve been trying some high-end whistles. A nickel Copeland, a Brass and a nickel Burke, a couple of Overtons. They’re all really remarkable instruments in their own rights. Haven’t decided which to keep and I’m not sure I’ve found the right one yet.
I’d still like to try some of the other brands. Maybe some wooden whistles, certainly a Sindt and an O’Riordan. If anyone has a nice whistle that’s getting a little neglected let me know. I might be interested in purchasing or trading.
When it’s all over I’ll be having a great high-end whistle sale. And keepng one or two special friends.
Drop me a line if anyone is interested in a sale or swap.

Yeah those Overton are nice whistles. I ended up with two of them. I put have one eBay right now. I can’t believe the volume and power on those things. The low D notes are amazing. They are a little chiffy for my taste put they have no trounble competing with a session.
Doc,
I´m into something similar as you.
Have bought my first “quality” D, a sterling Copeland and I also have a Low D Copeland.
On order is a couple of Abells, a A and D.
So what more to order… hmmm I will get on the list for a rose and of course I must try an Overton D and Low D.
Will certainly be interesting to see if I keep them all or if I mangage to chose one or two for keepers
Probably I will try a Low G as well, Overton and Copeland I think.
You know it’s been an interesting experience for me. I’ve got several really top-notch whistles and they’re all excellent but some of them just don’t connect with me personally. I guess that’s why there are so many high-end whistle makers. I think when the time comes I’ll be able to send them to someone else for a chance to be “THE” whistle for someone.
