It’s a Goldie.
It’s in beautiful like-new condition.
Overtons have a lot of back pressure and are a little more work to play but the pay-off is phenomenal power and volume if you want it. You can really lay into the notes and they stay true. I easily competed with my crew of fiddlers and a guitarist in our jamm sessions.
The overtones are amazing. I’ve never heard anything like the bottem D note on this whistle.
I have another Overton Hi-D (a Bernard) on eBay right now. It has slightly less volume and is slightly less work to play. But Very similar to the Goldie.
Why don’t I keep them? I’m looking a purer tone (less chiff) and I suffer from G.W.O.O.M.S (Guys with only one mouth syndrome). Sadly, I can only play one whistle at a time.

DOH!!! Forget the last post, I just can’t get the hang of this quote business.
Anyhow…“GWOOMS” Hahahahaha! Love it!
Doc, you need a Rose blackwood or boxwood. This is the ultimate pure tone, virtually chiff-free whistle. Beautiful to look at, the work of a master craftsman, in tone across all 3 octaves. Don’t rest from your quest till you get one. It’s the very reason I sold you the BO high D because I preferred the Rose tone (so the BO was never played).
