Tokyo uilleann pipers! That’s awesome. I had seen a website headlining a tionol in Tokyo before.
It’s a serious set of pipes. K&Q?
That site belongs to Mr. Tsuruhashi, a piper and linguist.
I met him a few years ago when he was just starting out.
Mukade
“sets”, it looks like. Full Froment and full Geoff Wooff D (NBD I expect?)
That might be him? And is there a humidifyer right next to him?

Good position, good grip, good pipes. I’d be interested to hear how this guy pipes.
Geoff did send a NBD to Japan last month, in sterling silver and mammoth. Fancy job.
How come so many Japanese people are into Irish music .?
Plenty of our Japanese friends at willie week!!!
RORY
Same reason why everyone else around the world is, it’s the coolest.
You can always have Google translate it for you to hilarious effect!
Here’s a sample:
“The piper is a kind of fetishist. It is the race which the between always you talk together not only the musical instrument itself, concerning the material and the like. Below, the picture of drivelling the UP is done because of such race and its extra troop.”
that is funny. last time I used a translator in writing a girl in Buenos Aires returned a response from her to the effect of: “I’m sorry to hear about your bladder problem.”
My daughter just spent 10 months in Japan learning the language. I’ll get her right onto translating. It might be a while though because she is in before school starts hibernation mode right now.
Oh, that was just a fancy title for the subject. I don’t seriously want a translator, although it would be fun. And my, what an interesting set of pipes you have on your avatar ![]()
My tongue is always firmly implanted in my cheek so no worries.
