The Chieftains live in concert @ Mesa Performing Arts Center

Was an Awesome show I thought, But one thing… Where was Sean Keane? As far as I know he’s still alive… But he wasn’t there at all. Paddy didn’t even mention his name… I thought it was weird… They still had Sean’s picture with the group in the flier for last night’s show… So anyone know what the deal with Sean is?

He wasn’t at their Bloomington, IN show Saturday night, either. And ditto re: his inclusion in the program. No ideer why, though…

Matt played The Moving Cloud. Made it all worth it.

It was a good show (in Mesa, AZ) but I was disappointed in the sound a bit. Seems like the sound engineers perhaps weren’t used to acoustic instruments or something. The pipes sounded muffled to me and I could hardly hear Molloy’s flute in the mix when he wasn’t playing solo. They did good with the Bodhran though, it wasn’t overpowering like some shows I’ve been to. Overall it was a very enjoyable performance.

Hey Key_of_D, have you seen this video clip:

or this one:

I watched about 30 seconds into one, and then about 1:30 into the other one. I have rather slow internet (56k dial up) so… It would probably take close to an hour to watch one. However of the parts I did watch, those recordings sounded just exactly like the ones off the Chieftain’s album Water From The Well. Maybe they are, but I wouldn’t know.

As awesome as the videos are, I’m not sure what relationship they have with the original topic of this thread. Although I will have to watch them once I get on a computer with high speed internet!!
