I was checking out this site so I thought I’d give the heads up to any of you guys interested. Teada, Dervish, and Celtic Fiddle Festival with Kevin Burke are coming to the freight and salvage in March and in early april Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill are playing the frieght. I’ve never seen Teada so I think I may check them out. Anyways, here’s the link for info.http://www.thefreight.org
Thanks for the tip, Murph. Are you sure these people will be pure drop enough for you?:x If you decide to go, email me. I might go too.
Tony
Oh you guys gotta go see Kevin Burke!
He lives in Portland so we go see him whenever he has a concert.
Tony, I’m going to make Martin Hayes for sure… the other ones I don’t know about. Except for Dervish, I’m not going to that one. What ones do you want to see and maybe we can have a tune or two before the show?
Pure drop? I’m still not sure myself what that means.
I may go see Teada and Kevin Burke…I really loved Teada the first time I saw them a few years ago, but then I found out that the banjo player is no longer with them. I was really bummed about that because I thought the banjo really made their whole sound…sort of an early De Danaan thing. So I don’t know if I will like their current lineup, but I might go check it out anyway.
I saw the Celtic Fiddle Festival years ago when Johnny Cunningham was with them, and I remember hearing them all play at a great session we had in Specs in North Beach. It will probably be really sad to go and see them without Johnny, but they are great players and they put on a great show.

Sad as it was not to see Cunningham with the Celtic Fiddle Festival, the young fella Andre Brunet really is very good. He fiddles in the French Canadian style, with a platform under his feet…practically clogging as he fiddles. He had us all screamin’ for more.
So Tony, what do you say? Wanna meet up for the Martin Hayes concert?
