Sebastopol Celtic Music Festival - Sonoma County, CA 9/23-26

Anyone going to the Sebastopol festival next weekend? Maybe we could meet up sometime. I’ll be there all weekend (fri-sun).

If you’re still undecided, just consider this lineup:
Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill
Lunasa
Altan
Old Blind Dogs
Liz Carroll & John Doyle
Wendy MacIsaac w/Mairi Rankin & Patrick Gillis
Niamh Parsons w/Graham Dunne
Shay & Michael Black
Battlefield Band
Baka Beyond

Stiofan, I’m known for missing things under my nose, but, I still don’t see that Martin Hayes is playing on Saturday. ??? (I still haven’t bought a ticket.)
Tony

Well, I’m not Stiofan, but I clicked on the website, and Hayes and Cahill are listed first.

edit- Although upon further review it looks like he is playing Friday night and Sunday, but not Saturday, no??

OK, I’ll shut up now and mind my own business.
All the Best, Tom

As far as I can tell, Martin is playing on Friday night with Dennis Cahill (along with Altan), then on Sunday afternoon with Kevin Crawford and John Doyle (wow–what a trio…). So–no, Martin doesn’t seem to be on the schedule for Saturday, but since he’s probably going to be around anyway, it wouldn’t surprise me to find him playing somewhere on the festival grounds. Tony, were you under the impression that Martin was playing on Saturday?

Tony, were you under the impression that Martin was playing on Saturday?

Well, I thought that’s what you said at your house last week. And I said I didn’t see that on the web site. I’m still scratching my head trying to decide what to do (not to mention the fleas).
Tony

hmmm…well, just as you say you’ve been known to miss things under your nose (but isn’t that where your whistle goes?), I’ve been know to utter a near-truth now and then (inadvertantly, of course), so maybe I confounded Sat & Sun when we were talking about the dates…in any case, I hope you can make it to the festival sometime over the weekend - let me know if you’re coming up.

I’ve been know to utter a near-truth now and then

I like that term, ‘near-truth.’ Mind if I use it? It would come in handy for me often enough. I’ll let you know when my mind makes itself up. I’m still waiting for an answer.
Tony

since MurphyStout and Feadogin were asking about the festival in another thread, here’s a bump for anyone still interested.

Tony?

I may head up there on Saturday if I feel inspired…I’d like to see Niamh Parsons.

J.

Heading up Tony? Justine, keep me post if you’re heading up there. I haven’t made up my mind yet but I might go if one of you guys are going up there too.

Hmmm, I think that there might be a fine session at the Plough sunday night?

I’ll probably decide tomorrow morning…depends if I can get my boyfriend to drive me. I’ll definitely head into S.F. Sunday night, anyway. Are you thinking the Plough or the Bodhran? Or maybe both…

J.

Renee wants to go see Lunasa Saturday night. General tickets are all that are left ($35/$38 ). Who is up to meeting for that?

Not a big Lunasa fan…but if I end up heading up there, I’ll look for you. I have to look for your picture so I can remember what you look like.

J.

You guys are making me feel guilty, but, no, I won’t be there. Not pure drop enough for me. Just kidding. My only reason is I’m a wimp.
Tony

NOt sure what the landmarks are there, but will be showing up around 6:30. Hope to see someone to visit with.

Up for a little pub hopping Justine?

I’ll start at the Bodhran and take it from there. I’m thinking Plough at some point tonight, though.

Maybe I’ll see you later!

Justine

Sorry, Murphy, not heading up after all…I’ll send you a pm,

Have fun without me, :sniffle:

Justine

:sniffle: It just won’t be the same.

Can’t be worse than our local saturday session, that’s for sure.
