To those of you who do, and particularly Jessie, I’d like to apologize. I was crude and not nice, yes. Sorry, Jessie! Loren is right that I normally avoid this kind of thing, and well, I slipped.
I think Loren is also right on the money with this:

It is wrong to be rude and obnoxious, but it is just as wrong to be rude and obnoxious back. When will we get apologies all around?
Anyway, good for you, Bloomfield, and thanks for making that effort.
About a week go, Jessie delivered a lecture to lkthomas on the evils of sexist remarks and I was therefore quite surprised and disappointed to see the “Trista” thread appear. It was this that prompted my sarcastic remark in the thread last night. I still feel that way. However, I am genuinely sorry that I ever pressed “enter” on my remark. It was unnecessary and I should have let the thread die a natural death. Whether it is believed or not, after I posted that remark and signed off my computer, I immediately regretted it and started to sign back in to delete the post when my doorbell rang. For 45 minutes I sat feeling very badly about the post while some neighbors chatted on. The instant they were out the door, I signed back on…only to find that things had blown up. At that point deleting the post and/or explaining/apologizing seemed useless, so I said nothing. I do apologize for making the remark and genuinely regret the problems it caused. If anyone wishes to comment about my remarks here, I’d appreciate a reply off the board so that this gets carried no further.

I believe you, Susan. And I can also attest to the fact that you have usually been very quick to jump to Jessie’s defense.
You’ve surprised me Bloomers. I didn’t think you’d be wise enough to realise you’d overstepped the mark or be big enough to apologise. I’ll have to reappraise my opinion of you.
You’ve now joined an elite band of C&Fers who’ve fired from the hip, regretted it, and said sorry. Other members of this exclusive club, of course, include both Jessie and Loren.
I apologize to everyone I’ve offended, like Loren & Jessiek. I apologize to those I’ve never offended like Bloomfield, Weekenders and Aodhan. Lastly, please forgive me for everyone I’ve yet to offend.
