There sure is. Try Thursdays at J. Patrick’s in Locust Point, 1371 Andre Street, (410) 244-8613. This site has directions.
In addition to the Thursday J. Patrick’s session mentioned above by Rob, last I heard there is also a session at J. Patrick’s on Tuesday nights, led by a fine flute player, Laura Byrne. I believe that Jim Eagan, a great fiddler and former student of Brendan Mulvihill, is also known to frequent the Tuesday J. Patrick’s session.
The J. Patrick’s site that Rob pointed to does not list this Tuesday session, but then again at the bottom of the page it says “Changes last made on: Mon July 21 1997”. The directions are probably still good, though…
Hi! I’m in Baltimore, and I’ve been to J Patrick’s; nice place, with some top-notch musicians. Jim Egan, Peter Fitzgerald (banjo) and Laura Byrne, who’s my teacher and is quite good! Peter leads the sessions on thursday nights, and Laura leads on tuesdays. I think there’s also a beginner session on Monday as well.
Welcome to Baltimore!

Thanks. I’ll check out that Thursday session.

Yes, the directions are good. (it’s my page) I should probably update that with the Tuesday session; however, I’ve had trouble accessing the web posting functions on the host and have yet to work out an alternative with my new system at home.
Sorry that I haven’t been more up-to-date with the page but I hope it still give you some help so you can …
