S. Central PA Get together! Flyingcursor Is Coming To Town!

Duplicate post from the Pub

Flyingcursor and his daughter are coming to my house on Sunday, May 8th in the afternoon. All Chiffers that live near enough are welcome to join in on the fun! There will be food!

If you have any other instruments besides the whistle, bring them along too!

If you need directions, PM or email me.

Cheers,
Kathy

Come on it’s going to be a blast. Music and cows and food and nice clear Pennsylvania air. Dulcimers, psaltrys, autoharps, harmonicas, whistles, flutes.

You can hear Kathy’s legendary psaltry vibrato and my stunning rendition of Ragtime Annie.

Izzy where are you? Byll?

Shoot,
Yeah, Byll could come (though it’s Mother’s Day!), but the trio which sprung from his Gladly Playe (ā€œKnotWorkā€ - GP’s guitarist/singer, a local budding session fiddler, and myself on whistles, flutes, bouzouki, mandolin, banjo-mandolin, bodhrans, bones, and vocals) will be doing a Mother’s Day thang at the Old York Street Faire.

What time does this shindig begin, what time does it end, and exactly where (name of a town or some roads nearby) is it?

(I’m in Lancaster near Millersville)

Hi Tommy,

I am hoping that Byll will get to come. It would be great if you could come too! Cindy and her friend Cathy from down your way are thinking that they can come.

It is going to start when everyone gets here. I was thinking about 11:00 AM but if people want to come earlier than that, it would be ok. It can end when everyone decides to go home. My hubby will have to get up to go to the barn about 4:00 AM the next morning, but he usually sleeps through anything.

I live in New Enterprise, PA. it is just a few miles north of the PA Turnpike. You would get off at Breezewood and take 30 West past Everett but not quite to Bedford. I can PM exact directions if you like.

Maybe you could bring the trio with you! It would be great if you could work it out!

Cheers,
Kathy

Just thought I would bump this again in case anyone missed seeing it before.

It is Next Sunday! So far, there will be whistles, harmonica’s, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, Harp, Bass fiddle, banjo, concertina, flute, Bowed Psaltery, guitar, and who knows what else?!

There are a couple of people from C&F and Some from EverythingDulcimer and a few of my friends who live near by coming. I’m not sure of the total count.

Cheers,
Kathy

Hi, Kathy. The problem is the date. On most other Sundays, I would travel with my band mate, Tommy, and be at your gathering. However, my wife is very important to me, and May 8 is Mother’s Day. Another time, I hope…

Best.
Byll

Darn, I know that date is kind of a bad time. That was the only time that Rick is coming through so that’s why it’s that day. I think that Mothers day is why most people can’t come. We can still do it another time.

I will be making it up to my mom by taking her mall shopping and for lunch. I think we are going to hit ā€˜The Olive Garden’!

It’s too bad that you can’t come, Deb is coming and she was hoping to see you. I told her that Tommy couldn’t come either so maybe we can do it another day when you all can come. I am up to it anytime. Avery(Unseen) from NJ wants to come too so maybe some time this summer we could work out another gathering.

Cheers,
Kathy
