May 31st–party at Tom’s house! Complete with barbecue and maybe even an outdoor bonfire to dance around into the wee hours! Rock Climbing for anyone interested! Hiking!
Oh, and maybe some tunes in there too!
June First! I’ve booked us (this being National Optimism Month) at the new local venue The Global Cafe for a Sunday afternoon session, 2-4. I’m sure going to feel dumb if Beth and I are the only one there!
Salt Lake will be represented…
How 'bout all you Colorado folks?
Collin, you still out there?
Anna, got that car running yet?
Anybody else feel like a little road trip? (Wyoming: Crossroads of a Nation.)
Zoob, transatlantic plane tickets seem pretty cheap right now, if we can keep you off politics …
I’m sure I’ll be there this time around, especially if Beth has anything to do with it. I can hear her threatening to stuff me in the back of her trunk already… Really though, it’s sounds like a wonderfully good time!
I still haven’t heard from the Colorado contingent–Mack and the GJ crew? Clan Rowe (I’m just aching to try on some new hats)? Blayne? Rocky Mountain Piper/Colo Ice Climber (whom I still have yet to meet)?
Has anyone heard from Collin or Anna lately?
Brian, are you bringing your kilt to this one? It might be a little warm, but that’s the price you pay. I’ve been doing a lot of biking, hiking, and weight lifting lately, so you KNOW my legs will be lookin’ grand.
I, uh, need to know how much elk burger to thaw out. (of course, as long as Brian and I are both here no food will go to waste)
I’ll talk to the boss, uh, I mean my better half tonight and see if we have any plans for that weekend, and if so find out who I have to kill to get out of them
It just might be doable. Thats like 3 hours from here (Grand Jct) isnt it?
I will have to get up on some session Tunes. Send me a private message with a list of likely to be played Tunes. (most of what I play is GHB tunes & Technique on my “thing that should not be” whistle, maybe its time to make one in the key of D)
One thing I could easily do, is draw some attention from the local populace playing outside before the session starts… http://www.weddingpiper.com/yellow.html
I might even sew up a batch of ballistic nylon, silk lined whistlecases or somesuch.
A Piper! I know about as many Scottish tunes as Irish, so that will be fun. I’m not sure if Melissa is going to be at this one (she is a MEAN GHP/Shuttlepipes player), but definitely bring yours along. My living room has GREAT pipe acoustics… heh heh heh
By the way, your link was blocked by my school’s porn filter…what kind of attention, exactly, are you going to be drawing, hmmm???
And further, is that a Gunn tartan I see on thy avatar? If so, you’ll be assured a hearty welcome into clan Wilson.
I’ve been working on actually writing down all of the tunes I can actually play (it’s depressingly short, and especially lacking in reels), so I’ll get back to you on that.
Bethy, Mack can’t make this one, either. It won’t be the same.
Hey, if anyone wants to show up early, my jazz band (“The Sick Nappers,” don’t look at me–I wasn’t consulted) is going to be playing downtown thursday, the 29th. Should be alot of fun.
Bad news, though: I have to be back in school for half a day monday (making up for a snow day). If anyone’s still around, you can come hang out with me and my kids. We probably won’t be working REAL hard.
Tom, I’ll be hoping to round up the SLC contingent for a friday night arrival as well. I imagine we’ll be leaving right after the 2-4 stuff Sunday. Just my guess/hope, though.
Turn north off main street onto North 2nd Street. Follow it for, oh, a mile or so until you leave town.
After leaving town, (yes, that’s after leaving town, Brian!) continue out N 2nd for about .8 mile. Turn right on Dutch Ed Rd. Go along a little way, and turn right on Pinto Lane. Wilsonham Palace is the first driveway on the right, 11 Pinto Lane. Small brown house, big porch; look for the purple truck.
Got the motorhome out and cleaned up this weekend everything is shipshape and ready for cruising up to Tom’s.
Tom, drop me an e-mail with your phone # in case I need to call for guidance into port. Anywhere we can all go to dinner Friday night?
