Party at Tom's House!

Calling all Rocky Mountain Boys!!!
(not to be sexist, but “Rocky Mountain People” just doesn’t sing)

God’s in heaven, I’m in Wyoming, the elk is in the freezer, the bats are in the belfrey, the new house is nearing completion, and all’s right with the world…

Anybody want to help me turn this here house into a home with a little music?

I’m planning a get together the weekend after Christmas, Saturday the 28th. (we might have a pre-session session the 27th, depending on when everyone gets here).

We’ll have food. We’ll have music. We’ll have a woodstove to huddle around. What more could you really ask for?

In addition to whatever C&F riff raff I can assemble, we’ll feature some local talent (including, hopefully, a great guitarist/whistle player from Cody, a local piper or two, and maybe a couple of the guys from my now defunct folk band).

Anybody that wants to show up early and/or stay on through the weekend, I could probably work out some climbing/hiking/snowmobiling, depending on the weather.

Did I mention food?

So, who’s coming?

Tom

yells from the freeway

Meeee!!!

swerves to avoid traffic and resumes travel

I want to, but the roads are horrible in Wyoming in the winter (I know - I was stuck in Rawlins for two days awaiting clearing) and I’m afraid to commit…put me on your “possible-depending-on-the-weather” list.
Susan
P.S. Do we have to eat elk or are there alternative food sources close at hand???

Susan: (In my best English accent)
Come on, ya pansy!!

Tom: (in my best southern Utah accent)
Oh yeah!?!?!?
So you want me to just cowboy up and go for it, huh? Actually, you see, it wasn’t the two days in Rawlins (although that alone would be enough to make you avoid Wyoming in winter), it was the blizzard from Casper to Rawlins that gave me the white-knuckle fear of driving in snow. I do have extra days off that weekend and would really like to come…we’ll see…
Susan

I’ll car pool with any one with a really luxurious SUV!

Seriously I really want to make it, but counting me in so soon is seriously short sighted.
I will be there in spirit if not in person.

Mack

If anyone in the Denver area has an urge to drive up, I can share expenses.

Mack

No tsure where I’ll be living, or working (or IF I’ll be working still) by then Tom my lad, but I’m hoping to be able to make it as well. Bree’s got a bunch of wedding stuff she has to play for, what with her being a RESPECTABLE musician and all. I don’t get why people go through all the troubles of getting maried in this silly state…they spend all that money on really good musicians just to get a divorce a year later…SHEESH!

Well, so she’ll be playing weddings, and I’ll be taking donations in my Dixie cup for gas money!

All the best!

Bri~

Hmm I was under the impression that Brian was going, and since he will be my ride, that’s kinda important! Maybe Ben and I will have to bum a ride with someone else - anyone thinking of going in the SLC area, keep me posted!

–Beth

PS - Bri, your phone is dead, bud.

If anybody hears from Ron Rowe, tell him to e-mail me if he still wants those whistles for his school! Please! I did get a little grant. Life is interesting. However, if he deosn;t want some whistles, that’s more for me to give away!

So Anna,

I think you need to have our boy Ron head over to your neck of the woods and pick you up - bring you back - and join us all at Tom’s place!!

Ava, my bat did in fact die last night, to speak nothing of a marked lack of useable minutes lately…until the weekends anyway.

With luck this will be a very cool party!

Bri~

So, Brian, have Bree call in sick on the weddings! Holy matrimony is all well and good, sure, but this here is my HOUSE party!!! I need you here, man!

Anybody from the Denver crew reading this? Ron, if you and your daughter (who could doubtless find many new and interesting things to put on my head) don’t make it, I shall be most put out. And you don’t want that, do you?

More details to follow. The main advantage to having a get together in Lander: My house should be easier to find than Ron’s or Macks!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Tom

Oh, don’t worry Tom - I’m not coming to SLC just to have Bri say “Hey nice to see you again, have fun, bye!” I’ll just take his instruments and then he’ll HAVE to come  in case you or I accidentaly acquire them permanently!

Beth, are you coming back this way? I thought you were gone forever, much to our loss…

Kiirsi I am making a special guest appearance JUST for Tom’s party, the weekend after Christmas. After that, I will likely pass through town bringing my car to Seattle next May. After that, I still plan to go to the next GJ fest in September!

Don’t worry - I may be gone but I’m doing my darndest to make sure no one remembers to forget about me!

Sorry Tom, gonna be at my mom’s in S.C. from 23rd thru 31st.
I am going to Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore in late spring early summer maybe we can swing by then

I WANT TO COME!!! I just took a look at the map and it is 1 country and 3 states away, NO FAIR!!!

Anyone going in a private jet from Vancouver? I need a ride.

Sandy

Only three states, Sandy? Shoot. Maybe Dale would let you borrow Dale Force One?

Great Idea! after all they are small states…

I got somebody who owes me one, so we might make it! No kidding! And you guys, I’ll be producing the first Celtic music festival here in the real hicks. Will let you know when I got a date!
