Party at Tom's House!

Brian, I want to book you and your pipes for the thing here in the Black Hills, although I know you’ll hate the tune list and the songs! I live in a time warp! This will be a real challenge because most of the local muscians have never been exposed to it, much less played it! I am hiring a few good linch pins, and raising money now!

Cool, Anna! I hope you can make it. Be warned, though, I’m afraid my house isn’t very wheel-chair accessible (I seem to remember you being wheel-chair bound, or am I having another aluminum-whistle-induced hallucination?). It has a gravel driveway and three pretty steep steps up to the front porch. I hope that isn’t a problem.

Ron, I’m sad. Maybe next time.

In other news, I have my flooring, lights, and appliances–should start going in next week!!! This will be great–living with friends has seriously goofed up my practice time!

Tom

I was in a wheel chair last winter! Hehhe, busted ankle better than new!

Party? wakes from extended Thanksgiving weekend induced coma

Me! Can I please? Oh please may I go?!? Peeerrty please with sugar on top?!?!?

I have a good four wheel drive jeep with four extra seats and lots of room in the back for whistles for anyone in the Salt Lake area who would like to carpool up. Gas money split five ways isn’t so bad, and I do have a CD player to help make that long drive pass a little faster with a bit of music. (Yes Beth, I realize that after your great cross country trip, Clearfield to Lander doesn’t seem like that far anymore but… )

Pending of course that the biggest blizzard of the year doesn’t converge on Wyoming that weekend, and I guess I should really clear this plan with my sweetheart before making serious plans in case he had other ideas for that weekend already. On the other hand, the last thing I have heard from him is that he is working that weekend, in which case all I’d have to do is find a sitter for my son then it’s off to Wyoming. Course, finding a sitter might be a bit tricky, but…

I want to go! Please, oh please may I go…

Well…OK. I guess you can come.

(Brian, Beth, are you listening?)

I sure hope my house is done before Christmas. I’ll at least make sure the wood stove is installed…

Tom

Tom, if it’s not done, you’ve got a whole captive work crew for a weekend! lol

Sara - great! How many can fit in your car? Could it fit you, me, Ben, Brian, and Susan? Susan can have the front, as Ben and Brian are both used to having to deal with me on road trips, LOL!

Now Beth, just because I know how to tile a shower, kitchen floor, etc. doesn’t mean I’m good at it! And wouldn’t breathing wet paint fumes while whistling make all of us a bit dizzy? Captive work crew indeed.

Yes, my car comfortably and safely fits five total people. Unsafely and uncomfortably you could try to fit as many as you like. Really though… only five seatbelts. Me then four others… you, Ben, Susan and Brian would work just fine if they are intersted. Are you???

Sweetheart just called and he said he sees no reason why not so long as I’m not driving up alone. So I expect a car full here people! And we need to hammer out some of the details of this venture to… like when are we going, when are we leaving, and since this does not appear to be a one day trip, where are we staying? And of course, who all is going in my car? So let me know folks.

 Sara

Now this is sounding better! Count me in (with the understanding that I can always withdraw at the last minute if there are blizzard clouds on the horizon).
Susan

I’m writing the gang an info email, it will be out in a few minutes guys.

House update:
Sheetrock is all in and being taped today. Paint and flooring going in tomorrow and next week!! Appliances sitting in the warehouse just a-waitin’ for the floor to go in! I’m driving over to Riverton to buy a wood stove this evening! (I’m going to have to put a bog somewhere on my land so I can have a Peat Fire Flame–does anyone know how to make a bog? Do you need water to do that?) Siding won’t be on til next spring. Sunrise view from the living room window is enough to make a man want to kneel and give thanks.

Whistling update: Got together with Gerry Tuesday night (a great whistle/guitar player from Cody who is planning on coming, too) and realized I’ve forgotten a lot of tunes. Better get to work on that.

OK, so who all is planning on crashing at the house? I need to be sure I have room for everyone–it’s a very small house with hard floors and one bathroom! I’ll welcome as many as I can fit, of course, but a hotel might be more comfortable if you can afford it!

Mack, any luck finding a ride?

Boyoboy, is this gonna be fun!!!
TW

I appeal again to the Denverites for a ride to Tom’s!! I’ll share the expenses AND toss in free whistles!

Please

Mack

C’mon, Ron, coming to Tom’s? I haven’t met you yet, you know - and I’m a Rocky Mountain Sessioneer so it’s mandatory for us to meet everyone! Mosey over to Mack’s for some whistles and bring a whistlemaker to the party!
