The Gathering-Denver Jan19th

Okay guys, here’s what I was thinking, this thing is really growing we’ve got 20 to 30 people comming, a friend of mine who plays fiddle will also be joining us and Dave Migoya wrote me and said he’d be comming also so we get to meet another board member.
That’s way to many people for me to cook a sit down dinner for. Mack mentioned that he was going to bring a cassarole so I thought we could do a potluck, everyone bring something and we all eat good. That okay with everyone?

Now for how to get here

My address is:
5278 E.130th Circle
Thornton Co. 80241

Phone is 303 280 1782 in case you get lost.
You can get directions to the front door using Mapquest.

17 days and counting boys

Ron

Ron,

After a 10 hour drive, I don’t think a normal supper type dish will keep well…can I bring some liquid refreshments??

Bri~

Ron,
Nice topic name, and appropriate, too. This is not a gathering. It is…The Gathering. :sunglasses:

I can bring a desert or a salad if you’d like…If I brought ice cream, I could just throw it in the back of the pickup.

Ron, any news on the lodging situation? Let me know so I can make other arrangements if necessary.

Wow, this is going to be GREAT!!! See you soon!

Tom

Brian,
Being a good Irishman how could I say no to liquid refreshments?

You guys are talking about tea, right?

This is Erik looking wistfully over the Atlantic - what a rough and long stretch of water. It almost makes me want to break into song (or is it tune). ~ Rockie Mountain high - igh - in Colorado ~

“STOP THAT, STOP THAT! YOU’RE NOT GOING TO DO A SONG WHILE I’M HERE!!!”
–Prince Herbert’s Dad

Anyhoo…Ron, it’s all taken care of. Sarah and I will stay with some friends in Longmont. We’ll bring something to eat. Who knows, if we’re lucky we might just pick up a main course off the side of the road.

Tom

Some Badger pot pies would be good Tom

Ron 2 weeks and counting

Is there anyone who wouldn’t like my wife’s famous green bean casserole? I suppose we could offer something else green like broccoli or spinach…OK, so what’s your favorite color of casserole if not an Irish green?
Mack

Mack,
Is that the green bean cassarole with the crunchy onions on top? I LOVE that it is one of my favorites!!!

One week and counting guys, can’t wait to see you all. Here is a tentative plan, Sat. night Hoolie at my house. I am getting off work at noon on Sun. meet downtown for the soundcheck with the Chieftains. David Migoya has suggested we meet at Fado’s for dinner around 4:30-5:00 as the session starts there at 5:00, then jump on the 16th street shuttle up to the Paramount for the show. Any other suggestions?

Ron

Is there still any word on the Chieftains coming back to Fado’s after the show?? And what time is the show…7:00??

We’ll see ya then!

B & H~

Show is at 7:30. No word on the session afterwards yet. What time are you, heather and mack getting into denver brian?

Hey, that reminds me: Ron, when is the session/dinner saturday night? Sarah and I can be there pretty much anytime late afternoon/evening. When do the festivities begin?

Also, what is the plan for Sunday? When is the soundcheck, and are we still going to try to sneak in? I still like the idea of soundcheck, dinner, concert, and possibly schmoozing with the band after…

Insanely excited--
Tom

p.s. Ron, check your private messages. Thanks.

I have an idea…We could have a, “session” at the Kiowa games this spring. It on Mother’s Day weekend in Kiowa ,Colorado. My Wife’s in charge of the folk music programming. I’ll run it by her and see what we can do. I’ll get back to ya. Phizzy

Potluck… sounds good… We’ll bring something… Just so you know Mack… I’ll be bringing myself, Deb & probably Jen… I might even bring my silly copper low D that I made for a few chuckles…

Kiowa sounds like fun. Let’s do look into it! Sorry we’ll miss you Phizzy.

I certainly am looking forward to this weekend and seeing all you wonderful folks.

Blayne do bring your low D!

Tom, I’ll bring the original CRD to play along with yours, and don’t forget the jaws harp and the slide whistle.

Ron we may have to reheat the casserole after its five hour ride.

See you folks soon.
