Mmmmm… no. I’m okay with not being there.

I’ve never heard of the West coast being called that, but okay, I’ll go with it. 
I am happy to report that there is no interesting weather going on here. The only unusual thing is the appearance of big waves on the coast.

There’s the “right coast”, the “middle or third coast” the “left coast” and of course the Gulf Coast. The sunbelt covers part of the right coast, left coast, and Gulf coast and the rust belt is on the third coast. You can surf on all four coasts, Racine is on the third coast and has excellent no salt surfing.
I wonder if that ice-bearded gentleman

Compared to just surfing on lake Michigan in January? No, probably not.
And I thought it was bad when my eyelashes freeze together from condensation in the winter.

Everyone who surfs or kayaks in sub-zero knows it’s good to have a thermos of warm water at the take out to defrost the face. I wear a nose clips as I hate frozen boogers. I also wear a dry suit, only whackos wear wet suits.
Ah, here in Canada we refer to Vancouver etc. as the Wet Coast. There’s an area north of there called the Sunshine Coast 
We also have a northern coast in the Arctic… and I’m not sure what name it has. Probably something really descriptive in Inuktitut.
