Retiring from the fray

Hello there, I have been a long term lurker on this forum and I’ve learnt an awful lot whilst being thoroughly entertained. However I have recently had to admit to myself that, owing to continuing dental problems,Irish flute
is an instrument too far and so I intend to concentrate in future on guitar and mandolin. Which brings me to the point of this post, that I have a 12 month old Hamilton blackwood keyless in D,likewise a Hamilton practise flute and an Olwell bamboo in D all looking for new homes.None of the flutes has been used overmuch as my ongoing problems have meant long periods being unable to play at all.I also have a variety of tutors and tune books available. I thought that posting here would at least give any interested parties the chance to make me an offer before the inevitable ebay. Pics are available if wanted

I’ve PM’d you orwell.

I’m sorry to hear of your problem, it seems a cruel twist of fate. But why give up altogether? Have you given any thought to low whistle?

I’ve PM’d you as well.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I never got any response at all :frowning:

Sorry about the tardy responses, you know the saying “post in haste repent at leisure”.To bring things up to date, I have contacted a couple of people from my side of the Atlantic because I feel happier about shipping
flutes inland and I thought that the current exchange rate might not help with prices! There is also that sneaking feeling that I might live to regret my wholesale abandonment of fluting but at the moment I cannot see a point at which i could conceivably play again.
