For what it’s worth, I plan on attending the initial meeting and participating in the club as much as I can. I hope to see others and to meet a few more pipers in the area.

We just had our 4th meeting this last Saturday. We meet the Second Saturday of the month from 10 till 12 or 1 depending on who shows up and what we’re up to. We’re primarally a group of three accomplished Uilleann pipers and about 3 or 4 students. the website is www.raleighpipersclub.com and we’re definately in our infancy, but we’d love to have more people showing up and contributing. Feel free to leave me a note here or through the website.. I think I have e-mail there too.

Its great to hear that you’re getting some piping going in NC! If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

If you would, please encourage your members to also join the SEUPC and attend the upcoming Tionol in Gainesville at the end of February.

Regards,
Gary

I went ahead and registered for the SEPC or however that went, and I’ll encourage it, but honestly this has been a pretty shut down group lately. hard to get the better pipers out to have tunes and the beginners are kinda floundering around and not getting things done either. (hate to say it out loud but it’s true) Experiments like this take time and we’re in the early stages. if I had moved back up to Michigan instead of NC after Chiropractic school and started a pipers club I would have had twenty good strong solid members within the first month and wouldn’t have known what to do with myself, but this is a way different area.. but we’ll get there. Gainsville is a 5 hour drive from Raleigh… we’ll see where we are then, but right now I’m still trying to get my practice established and put some sort of money in the bank and probably won’t be able to make it out myself, but we’ll see.
all the best and wish us luck.
Eric
