Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia Piper's club

To the best of my knowledge we do not have one. Anyone want to start one? I know there is a piping scene in Baltimore, but do not know much about it. Given the traffic problems, it would be nice to have something even closer.

If I was there, I certainly would go in on it. My brother lives in the DC area, and I am occasionally down there. I almost moved to the DC area a couple of times myself too. Anyway I would be interested in possibly dropping in on a meeting or two if time allowed and you do get a group together.

judging by the enthusiasm of the response, there is not a great need. what i have not done is asked ian lawther who he teaches-i know he has a few students playing UPs (he also teaches nsp, ssp, and other stuff i can only guess at).

Meir,
There are a couple of us up in Harrisburg, Pa (about 1.5 hours north of Baltimore). While maybe too far away for a club, not to far away for some mutually agreed upon get togethers.

You ought to get in touch with Mark Hillman. He builds pipes and plays in the DC/Baltimore area. He lives in Silver Spring, MD. Wonderful piper and builder.

I’m interested in learning the pipes, but do not yet have any sort of a set to practice on or a teacher in the area that I know of. I’d be interested in participating while I’m in town (next 12 weeks) or at least I’d be grateful if I could find someone willing to provide a bit of instruction and some recommendations on starter sets of pipes.

suspiral, check your pm.
