Piping videos at www.tradlessons.com

Hi y’all,

I finally completed the first whistle tunes teaching video DVD a couple of weeks ago and am moving on to tunes on the Uilleann pipes.

Just posted the first three tonight:

I Buried my Wife and Danced on Top of Her
The Sporting Pitchfork
Mayor Harrison’s Fedora

each tune played once at full speed, then slowly.

the site is:

http://www.tradlessons.com

If you like me to do a video for a specific tune, please drop me an email at:

michael@tradlessons.com

and please be sure to check out the site!

I hope some of players here will find the site useful.

Cheers and thanks,

Michael

I was hoping for something like this
Thanks a million Michael! This is most usefull, even essential for someone like me who pipes in isolation.

Best of luck with your new UP section, I’ll spread the word over here

Hey Michael
This is a great resource, well done and thanks for taking the time to put it all together.
Cheers

Thanks Michael, its really nice.
Did we talk about this at Swannanoa a few years ago?
Please keep up the good work… Ed

Outstanding work my west coast friend.
You may have done more to advance the art than any of us know..

Cheers!

Hubba Hubba! Been waiting for these.

Doc

By the way, I think the idea of just the chanter is good for tune acquisition the first two times through.

But I’d sure love to hear the drones and regs on a third run.

New piping tunes up tonight, should be available on Sunday morning:

The Humours of Bandon - Jig

Tom Billy’s - Reel

The Humours of Ballyloughlin - Jig (requested by Rob)

A pretty dry night here in San Diego, was a real challenge to get anything recorded worth a darn, finally had to resort to shampooing the carpet in my office to get some moisture in the air.

Cheers,

Michael

 That’s a first for me, I’ll have to remember that. I can even use it as an excuse to practice, the missus will be pleased about the carpet.

Removed as per eskin’s request

BigDavy, if people watch the videos directly won’t they miss the nice little PayPal donation box on the main site, or the 41 whistle videos, 2 flute videos, 8 Drop-D backup videos:

http://www.tradlessons.com

How will I ever pay off this expensive 3CCD camera and editing software much less those pesky regulators?

Please, if anyone wants to support the effort or request a specific tune, please visit the main site, any donation very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Michael

Brilliant!!!

Today (April 1, 2007) added:

O’Farrell’s Welcome to Limerick (The Choice Wife) - Slip Jig

The Ace and Deuce of Pipering - Set Dance

Cheers,

Michael

nice site. I’m looking forward to using it. Just curious, but is that your Lynch set?

Wish I’d done that. Actually, just the second wife.

I received the whistle DVD. Nice! - thanks.

The chanter is by Benedict Koehler (awesome), the rest of the set is Kirk Lynch. I keep both the original Lynch chanter and Benedict’s in the case, they are quite different beasts and both have their own unique quality.

I do plan to release a piping DVD once I get to 40 tunes or so, much as I did for the whistle DVD. Probably in the May or June timeframe.

Cheers and thanks for all of the kind words. Its been tough recording in this dry weather, but so far I’m reasonably happy with the results so far.

Michael

Nice stuff Mr. Eskin.

Any resource is welcomed by us far away pipekins.

Tonight added:

Danny Boy (sorry…)

The Little Stack of Barley

Cheers,

Michael

Outstanding resource you’ve put together there! Keep up the great work! It even inspired me to get out my flute again.

Bill

I will most certainly direct present and future students to this site. Good on you Michael Eskin!
