Piobairi Ard Mhacha – The Armagh Pipers documentary on BBC2

Is there a way to watch this documentary if you don’t live in the UK (cuz I don’t)? The BBC 2 website blocks watching the three episodes from outside the UK and I would like to watch it.

It will be using your IP Address to determine country so would suggest a VPN service which uses proxy servers to swap this so you appear to be where you are not i.e. UK. Opera browser has a free one built in but is not specific with regards to countries and just lists them as Asia, Europe, Americas so run a Google search and there are a whole host of VPN services at varying prices. Some offer a trial period to allow you to check out whether it works for you or not. Some software and other programs e.g. Facebook use your IP Address as part of their security and will pick it up as a possible breach and require a password change.
I used one a few years back to gain access to the USA Specific Library that blocked outsiders but had piping related material (cannot remember which one) and it worked just fine.

Thanks, Chris.

On second thought, I don’t want to do anything wrong so I will just wait till I am in the UK for real next time. Thanks though.

John,
I applaud your honesty, and am sure the UK TV license payers do also. However be aware that things stay on the BBC iPlayer for limited periods (usually 28 days for radio but I don’t know how long for TV).

Ian

Wow, I was unaware that TV was licensed in the UK. Ours is free (and it shows). Thanks, Ian.

Thanks for recommending. Watching it now. Makes me wish I was born near Armagh.

It’s a repeat and shown as available for ‘over a year’ which often means it’s up there indefinitely.

Watching it again, thanks for the heads up.

We pay the beeb a licence fee - but we don’t get ads.
