Ram-raiders stole an earth-mover. They demolished part of a bank, in an effort to remove the Cash-point machine (ATM, to those in the USA). They then got stuck between the Post Office, where they tried to remove another Cash-point, but got stuck when they backed into a Chinese Take-away. They then got into an argument with each other as to who was doing the most work. Then they realised they were being watched by the massed members of the local British Legion (Veteran’s Association) who were having a pint after collecting their pensions - it being a Thursday. And legged it.

…Having demolished a proportion of Flackwell Heath, which is the next village, just up the road from where I live.

I know it’s not news to the standard of thousands of poor souls freezing to death in the MidWest, but I thought someone might find it interesting.
