hi Dale,
Just wanted you to know your newsletter was worth the wait!
Thank you for bringing some much needed levity into my life.
I had no idea you were a close personal friend of Angie and Brad’s! How nice of them to let you share with us that sweet photo ![]()
You have brightened my day and I truly appreciate the effort you put into the newsletter and this site ![]()
Have a great whistling day-

Yeah, that was really a great issue, Dale! Thanks for the effort.
Regarding Tony’s question, “Any suggestions on who this might be?”:
It’s very hard to make out without a higher resolution shot. but I’m guessing Arthur Godfrey.
Dale has also posted it here:
Thanks. I enjoyed putting the issue together. And, I’ve already gotten three emails from people all of which look pretty much like this;
“Ummmm. Australia is an island.”
Oh. Great. Thanks.
My Presidential Campaign Platform is expanding for 2008.
- No doorbell sounds on TV because they make me go to my door.
- Universal cell phone chargers for everyone.
- Ban the use of “Umm” and all variants used as a way of talking to people like they are idiots.
Dale, your writing knocks me out! Don’t ever stop!
(have you thought about a book?)
Dale-
That’s great news that you’re planning to run in 2008!!
I was afraid that there might not be anyone worth voting for

A quick update on point #2:
We’ve been working a long time on that one - The prime minister (AKA Prime Miniscule) originally drafted a thing called “The Pacific Solution” but it tended to be applied too broadly and affected a lot of incocent folks. For now, the person in question has been interred in a holding facility for other dangerous life forms somewhere in the north of the country - he is kept there by a nifty bit of psychology whereby he has been deluded into thinking he runs the place - while all the time he’s realy “exhibit #A”. He hasn’t bothered Australians since, However, we’re still trying to work out how to stop him pestering Americans - please have patience.

I know who this is..
It’s our very own Joseph E. Smith

Oddly enough, he just showed up here too, in the form of a Sphinx in my folded Jiu-Jitsu Gi:

It must be a sign…
I signed to the newsletter, but haven’t received it. Don’t know why. Where can I get it?
Because it goes out to a few thousand email addresses, it sometimes gets intercepted as SPAM by internet service providers. SO, that could be it.
You can always find links to the issues at http://chiffandfipple.com/webissues.html

Hmm. I suspect that if you’re East Timorese, the concept of sharing a border with Australia may not be as funny as the rest of the world find it.
OTOH, there are some sinking Pacific Nations that would dearly love to share a border (a virtual one anyway) with Australia …
I think I’ll stop there, before the forum sinks into an unseemly display of political sniping.
But others are right, it’s a cool newsletter.
