I’m not in the habit of putting up tunes but here’s one just written today: The Windmill Jig.
Have a listen.
Hope you like it. Apologies for the odd squeak, first take and all that…

Great tune David! Thanks for posting it. ![]()
That’s a shame. Should be more of it. What good’s a piping forum if no one wants to share their piping?
Nice tune David. Are you making it public domain or Cop-con. Should we call it ‘David Lim’s’ if we wish to record it? What’s the go with new tunes these days?
Cheers,
DavidG
Nice tune David.
Reminds me a little of Fraher’s with the low hand chanter work in the first part but there the similarity ends.
Yeh, a nice tune. Can you put the dots onto the forum?

For me there’s not much point in copyrighting a tune. The fun of writing it is enough, after that the tune’s has to fend for itself.
Of course it’s alway nice when you get a credit on someones album. But that is a small proportion of what come out, most of my tune are thought up, then forgotten within a week. I thought I’d try and hold onto this one.
David
Tsk..tsk…you should be learning to play by ear ![]()
Cheers,

Is it a new tune or where did you get it or what.
le meas,cormac.
Very nice sounding; congrats on the player. What set do you play?
David your tunes are fantastic - I often play the ones from years ago that I can remember. My long-standing favourite of yours is Edinburgh Rock (it rocks
)
Keep 'em coming!!

I would certainly love to hear more of them David. Any chance of posting a few more? ![]()
It’s a newly written tune.
It’s a Willams set, the reed is sounding a bit “honky” on the hard D occasionally but generally it’s good.
I give it a go in the next few days.
Thanks all
David

I was ~wondering~ if it was a Williams set. Very nice playing, David, and the set sounds great!
Did you have a particular windmill in mind when you named the tune?
Any chance of posting some sheet music via ABC format? I particularly like the crans.
Cheers L42B ![]()
Yes, it’s very quaint with little craft workshops and a cafe set around it. A few people out there might know it.
For those that might be interested here’s the tune written out:
Not quite got to grip with the software yet and the abc export kept crashing, so it’s not abc.
I’ve not put in any ornamentation, so do what you like. ![]()

Thanks for the tune David, I’m adding it to my repetoire.
Thanks for putting up the dots David ![]()

… well? Whaddya say?
Of course I am too polite to be continually pushing tunes on you all and too polite to say no.
So I’ll post one more tune and then we’ll forget this ever happened. ![]()
