Mick's Virtual Whistle - change of domain name!

Hi everyone.

I thought it would be appropriate to let you all know that my web site, Mick’s Virtual Whistle, now has a new domain name. It’s been available at http://fingertrip.net since it first came online back in 2000 but now fingertrip.net is consigned to history and the new location of the site is at http://micksvirtualwhistle.net.

It’s the domain name it should have had from the start. The decision to change now wasn’t entirely whimsical on my part, but I won’t trouble you with the details as they are not fun.

I’ve made a few small changes to the site too, some cosmetic and some not-so-cosmetic, but I’m deeply aware that there have been no new tunes added in ages. That will be my next job…

Mick

Already on favorites Mick. Quite a considerate site - tunes, download capability, sheet music including a printable version, and the whistle being used. Very nice. Thanks and look forward to more tunes.

Hi Mick,

Just want to say a quick THANKS
for an excellent site and source of
many tunes.

I really enjoy your playing!

Cool!

Thanks, PhilO. Glad you enjoy the site. It’s interesting to me how the combination of elements on the site has proved so popular, especially the recordings paired up with the notation. It wasn’t obvious to me when I created the site that this was what people wanted but there aren’t many sites which combine the two elements, so this is what I hope to continue to do.

And thank you to you too, Tony!

Well, thanks Bogman21, I appreciate your enthusiasm for more tunes! I’m on a bit of a roll now, so let’s see what I can come up with…

Regards to everyone,
Mick

Let me add my voice to the chorus… Thanks! It’s an Excellent resource, and I’ve enjoyed my visits there for some time!

Thanks very much, anniemcu. Glad you like the site.

A great site, great tunes and a great player. Thanks, Mick.
Mike

You do great things for us, Mick. Keep up the good work and let’s see some new tunes soon! (a slow air or two or three would be good, too)

Many thanks to you too, burnsbyrne

Cheers, backhawk. I’ll see what I can do.

As always, good to see you around Mick, hope you’ll not be so scarce in the future

Best,

Loren

Sorry, Loren, I missed your post! It’s nice to visit and see you are still here. You are a legend in your own time, I think  I’ll try and show my face more often, promise.

Mick

Mick,

I would also like to thank you for your website. It been very helpful to have such excellent recordings along with the sheet music. An impressive job all round.

I am looking forward to you posting new tunes.

 Not even in my own mind, let alone anyone elses!

I’ll try and show my face more often, promise. >

You do that - don’t want us to come after you now, do you? :smiling_imp:

Loren

Hi there Mick, nice to hear from you again. I will look forward to a tune or two

Cheers,

Dave.

Thank’s swizzlestick; I appreciate your kind words.

Hell, no! :astonished:

And nice to hear from you too, Dave. You were brought to mind the other day when I saw an old tv clip of Fanny Craddock! I doubt anyone else reading this will understand the relevance of that.

As for looking forward to a new tune or two… It’s done! At last, after a long, long time I’ve finally got a new tune posted…well, it’s a start, and I’ll try and get some more posted soon. Hope you like it (well, there are two new postings actually - both the same tune but on different whistles).

Regards to all,
Mick

(edited for stupid grammatical error  )

Oh yes… after 40 years she still comes back to haunt me!

Cheers for ‘Tamlin’ Mick

I inadvertantly came upon your website as well and pulled out a few tunes. Great sight. Thanks for making it available. I shall have to check out the new domain.

I also would like to see a couple slow airs. Really enjoyed your site, Mick.
