Mick O'Brien on the Telly

Apparently he’s on ‘Highland Session’ at 10pm tonight on BBC4 (‘digibox’ viewing only I understand).

Whey Hey!

Apparently Mick played a froment C set on TV in the late 1980s. Anyone have a copy of that show?

Your set was used by Mick on RTE - on loan from Alain Froment. Mick played James Ennis’s The Morning Thrush.

I can’t seem to figure out how to watch this thing on the site.
Or is that even an option?
Looks like Caomhin is playing a hardanger fiddle there. I’d love to hear that.

Caoimhín was playing a Hardanger fiddle at a gig with Mick at NPU earlier this year (great gig). Lots of tuning jokes between the two of them.

Pat, any way to view those episodes, especially the one with Mick an Coaimhin playing together, over here in Cali? I didn’t see any links to view these online. Sure wish there was, looks like something that’d be great to see.

Looks like a cool show. I remember seeing “Ceol Tacsi” a few times when I was living in Scotland in '98 and “Sruth Na Maoile” on TG4 in Ireland in 2000. Glad to see there are still programs like those being made. Surprised they didn’t try to give it a zingy Gaelic title though…

Nice to see Alasdair Codona had a spot on there. He’s one of the best Gaelic singers I’ve ever heard.

Well it looks like you can’t watch it on the net.
Nor can you buy a recording of it from BBC.
