Look Here Since when did Howard make a High D? Any body try one of these? On the site they say it is really nice and it cost a lot too less than a Copeland but still a lot.
Very nice looking whistle…I must resist ![]()
Brian has been making these for a long time. A few years ago he insisted I try his improved design. I don’t care for that sort of whistles and it wasn’t my thing(and I told him so) but I suppose it was OK in itself if the type of instrument suits you.
It has the aura of a very special, almost magical instrument. Due to being hand made it is rare and difficult to obtain.

This description could have come straight out of eBay.
Unfortunately, it’s not recommended for beginners, and i’ve only been playing for less than 10 years, so i think i’ll wait until i’ve learned more.
I have looked on howard site and i can’t find the high d anywhere.
if they are as good as the low d they will be good
I’m actually due to have a phone chat with Brian soon. I’ll ask him what the deal is.
These have been around for a number of years, maybe 5. I’ve never purchased one because, although they look great, I’ve not heard reliable recommendations and I won’t pay that sort of money, sound unheard without seeing lots of credible positive reviews.
I have a Howard low C composite which I like very much. I regard Howard lows as the best value-for-money deal out there that I know of. Brian’s highs are aimed at a different corner of the market and don’t yet seem to have taken off.
