Low Whistle Info...

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to use one of these whistles I found on Amazon. Seems cheap, but I wanted to know quality of tone and such. Thanks.

These are the Indian whistles to be found
all over EBay etc. Most of them are out of
tune and unless you feel confident in attempting
some tuning and tweaking, you would be
better staying away from them. They are
capable of reasonable sound when tweaked.

If what you are looking for is an inexpensive
basic Low D, you could do worse than Jubilee
Whistles. Daniel does a solid hand-made
aluminium D for $55 and it is in tune!

PS I have edited this post to say that Daniel
Bingamon also does a really nice beginners
lowD in PVC really cheap, with nice sound and
again it is in tune.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I would also suggest a Jubilee.

A Howard is a nice whistle too. They can be seen on this board and eBay for well under 100 dollars from time to time. Even low C’s can be had for decent prices too.

This came up for discussion a little bit ago.

If you follow the link Wanderer gives there, you’ll find even more discussion of this whistle brand. Some like it, but most find problems.

Just to confirm that he is NOT referring to the Howard whistle!!!
