I don’t know the chap, but it’s a nice collection he’s got for grabs. He frequents the Uilleann Chatlist I’m a member of.

"I have some whistles for sale to any who may be interested. All are in
near new condition, with absolutely no defects (as I’ve babied them all
along). They are as follows:
1 Chieftain Kerry Low D (plastic-head, tuneable) - $100
1 Chieftain mezzo C (tuneable) - $100
1 Chieftain mezzo D (non-tuneable) - $80
1 Michael Burke mezzo D (narrow-bore brass, tuneable) - $100
1 Michael Grinter Low F (cocobolo wood and brass, tuneable) - $400
1 Michael Grinter mezzo D (cocobolo wood and brass, tuneable) - $350
If anyone is interested in getting them all, I will sell them as a
package
for $1000."
If you’ve yet to have the Grinter experience, this looks like an excellent chance. The low Fs are, IMO, everything the legend says they are. If I didn’t have a budget and a taste for other brands too, I’d be happy to buy a full set.
I will create a new post maybe later
but I want to advise that I got two Low whistle for sale
and I don’t want to gift money to ebay for now
I got a very very old low D Overton (marked just with the usual “D”)
and it has a very old stickers of “Walton’s” in dublin!
and that is not tunable
and a tunable Howard Black (low D as the same)
(the new model as descrived on web site http://www.howardmusic.co.uk/ )
that came with the howard plastic case
