There is a going away party the evening of the 25th for a couple who have been active in the Irish scene in Houston for many years but are now moving away. So, early afternoon would probably be the best time. You name it - 1, 1:30, 2, 2:30.[/quote]
Afternoon is better for me too since I have a bit of a ways to drive home. And my girlfriend won’t feel like I’m abandoning her for the whole day, although I have asked to come along.
I have made up a list of the possible representative flutes that will be in attendance at the Summit, IF all interested parties are planning to come on over…
I can’t wait - Saturday’s gonna be sooooooo much fun!
Someone there’s gonna need to teach me how to play the flute before the afternoon is out, otherwise I might go crazy with all that beautiful hardware everywhere in the same kitchen…
For me, there were too many cool things to mention them all, but let me try.
First to all those who attended, a huge thank you for the leap of faith that made it possible to attend a gathering based solely on communications through a message-board! And to travel far to get here.
Secondly, the willingness to share around some of the most beautiful and desireable flutes on the planet. Larry, your antique flutes are beyond compare! And the Wilkes was stunning. Eddy, the McGee rocked! What a beauty! The Sweetheart surprised with its lightness and playability.
Ben, big surprise was your finesse on the Horn! Mozart concerti in my living room! Amazing ~ but not as amazing as the “fingers of fire” on the O’Riordan whistles…
Eddy, you have a beautiful fiancee ~ Hope y’all made it to the mall o.k. afterwards…
This was huge for me ~ Thanks to everyone for putting up with my small abilities and giving me the inspiration and goals to strive for. I would love to do it again, must try a few area gatherings y’all mentioned ~ hopefully I will try to make it to see Lunasa !
Cheers, and thanks for a most memorable afternoon!
