On Saturday myself and a handful of others were treated to a wonderful workshop conducted by David Power and hosted by Jim Shaefer (SP?) . Hat off to both of these gentleman as the day has provide ample arsenal for playing tunes with a real sense of style and beauty. David gave a mini concert at the end of the day and I nearly cried when the fox died…
.please record this tune on your upcoming CD???

I’ll second all that! Jim Schaefer organized a brilliant event, and David Power gave us some really effective instruction. Not just the Hag with the Money, but every tune I can play was improved by the tricks and techniques I learned there! GROW your notes!
the 7 of us were very lucky, both for the quality of tuition and the excellent hosting of jim and his wife.
david is an excellent teacher. he cheerfully pushes you to advance your technique. a day with him and nothing is the “same old”.
also had the pleasure of meeting some excellent players, some who are amazing for the amount of time they have been studying. it was nice to connect real people with some posters on this board.
excellent job, david and jim and family.
the interesting thing is, all this started because I posted that i wanted to find some other pipers to start a DC-Maryland pipers club. i got no response from my area then, and i have not since. i know there are pipers in DC, so would love to hear from you. baltimore is a little far (but closer than harrisberg)
in the mean time, i am very proud and honored to be adopted by the excellent enthusiasts of pipes and trad and sessioning in the harrisberg-hershey-gettysburg area. those sessions of yours will be worth the drive
