We had our workshop this past Saturday and it was fantastic. If you have an opportunity to take instruction with David, avail yourself of the opportunity. “Harvest Home” and “The Banks of the Suir” were the tunes he used. David gave us enought ornamentation to gradually add to the basic melody to make us beginners sound like we know what we are doing. (My wife noticed the improvement in the quality of our playing since the last workshop…she didn’t have to leave the house.)
As usual David gave a mini performance. He also gave a performance with my Gibson smallpipes. (Why don’t they sound that good when I play them).
Ciarin Somers, also in attendance, accompanied David on flute.
David is not sure of the date his CD will be out. The recording is complete and we did get to here a demo copy.
I hope to host one or two more workshops before David heads back to Irleland. I’ll post when I have firm dates.
