It is with grand jubilation that we welcome Mr. David Powers to New Jersey. From Waterford Ireland, this lad, taught by the Master Tommy Kearney, welcomed me to his home outside of Red Bank NJ last night and treated me to an ear full of glorious sounds on his Fremont C set. WOW. He has the gift of making the pipes sing and hum with real flare for the regulators…a tasteful application of their use. I have only been at the pipes for a bit over a year yet I have developed the Pipers’ ear so to speak and can tell you hands down that although David’s name is relatively unknown, his piping speaks volumes of experience and talent.
All those in the tri-state area here can look to David for lessons, pipe maintenance, gigs etc. Please show him the support as I, for selfish reasons, want to keep him around for lessons. Only 45 min from my home.
P.s David produced the Masters of Piping Volume Two featuring the great Tommy Kearney…..This is a must for the studying Piper.
