I got an mp3-recording of a concert which is about 1 hour long. Now I want to cut that into shorter pieces. Which program can do that - on a Mac? I would like a cheap and easy to use program.
Audacity

Just read the quick guide and you’ll be fine.

Audacity is available for the Mac. It’s a good program for any sort of audio editing/recording.

Not too familiar w/ Macs and I didn’t really do any checking outside of seeing if Audacity is available for Mac. Others may have other suggestions. I heartily recommend Audacity, though. I use the Windows version for recording my playing.
If you have Garageband (It should have come with
your Mac, but you never know), it can do it. Open
the mp3, double click on the waveform. The editable
version of the waveform will open up at the bottom
of the window. There you can select and cut the
waveform to your heart’s content. Then you can
export the project to another mp3.
Or, you can download Audacity, which is a free audio
editing tool. It’s also easy to use.
