I recently got a new iBook and it has this program called “GarageBand” on it–sort of a dumbed-down scrawny version of ProTools. Anyway, I’ve been playing around with it and recorded a few snippets to send to Clips & Snips. Thing is, the files are saved in iTunes in AIFF format. I know there’s a way to turn them into MP3s but I’m a bit of a luddite. So…Any other Mac users out there know how to do this and care to explain the process?
In iTunes, click on the tune to select it. Then use Advanced > Convert Selection to MP3. Next click on the converted version of the tune, and choose File > Show Song File. This will show you where the MP3 file is located on your disk.
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, under the advanced window, it only says “Convert to AAC”…nothing about MP3s, which is what has got me all confused in the first place…I converted it anyway, which turned it into an MPEG file…Wonder if that would work…?
