more of us should post on this site!!!
Thanks for watching Clips’n’Snips for us!
Cheers, Thies
more of us should post on this site!!!
Not if they’re going to be this good! Pretty intimidating for the more inept such as myself.

Very nice playing Ben! Post more.
Thankyou. I will do
I would but I don’t have the requisite equipment. What exactly do you need to record wee audio files and post them on Clips and Snips?
What you need first is a Microphone that will go in the hole on the sound card at the back of the computer.
Second is to go into all programs, accessories, entertainment and then sound recorder. From here you can record your piece of a tune.
When you finish recording the tune email the tune as attachment to Tony Higgins, whistletunes@hotmail.com and Tony will post it on Clips’n’Snips for you.
Hope this helps
All the best
You can download the recording package ‘Goldwave’ off the net for free-it’s idiot proof (I use it!).I also use another freebie-‘RazorLame’ to convert WAV files to MP3.
Follow Tony’s onsite instructions re clip file size etc and you can’t go wrong.
I got a useable mike from ‘Richersounds’ for around £25- though you can probably get cheaper from ‘Maplins’ or similar stores.
Another good recording programme ist Audacity. It’s free and available for M$ Windows and Linux (Mac as well).
You can donwload the latest version from: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
It’s very similar to Cubase from Steinberg; i.e. profesisonal recording software.
And Ben has indeed posted more. The Congress Reel is now up on Clips & Snips. Great playing Ben!
Ailin
Wow! That Congress is fine. Ben, do you have a background in GHBs? Some of the ornaments sound very highlandish (not a criticism!).
djm
good schtuff Ben.
Although I am part Scots, I have never played GHB. I had an attempt at small pipes, but found them too fiddley.
Judging from what I have heard on the clips and snips page, I’d say you have chosen the right instrument.
…can I record on my ibook (running OS 9.2) with my Sony MS907 mic and Audacity?
